For chamber Pressure firing, three cartridges are removed from the controlled-temperature
container and placed in the insulated box. The cartridges are then removed singly from the
insulated box and fired.
For Function and Casualty firing, six cartridges are removed from the controlled temperature
container and placed in the insulated box. The cartridges are then loaded in the revolver and
fired as specified.
These procedures shall be followed for either high or low temperature tests.
40.0 RECORDING OF DATA
40.1 Results shall be recorded directly on the test report form as follows:
40.1.1 Chamber pressure. Individual velocities and chamber pressures, average velocity
and chamber pressure, chamber pressure correction, average chamber pressure (corrected),
standard deviation of the individual chamber pressure.
40.1.2 Function and Casualty.
Number and type of case casualties and weapon
malfunction.
40.1.3 Temperature at which test cartridges were stored and fired.
40.1.4 The following test weapon data shall be recoded on the test report form:
a. Receiver number.
b. Barrel number.
c. Total number of cartridges fired in the bard.
