to comply with the packaging requirements of Section 5.
Government-loaned property. When requested by the

contractor, the Government will furnish, on loan, 20mm MARK 103, MOD O
dummy rounds of ammunition for use in conducting the tests specified
herein. The contractor shall be responsible for any damage to or loss
of Government loaned property.
Packaging, packing, and marking. Packaging, packing,

and marking of the links shall conform to the requirements of Section 5
of this specification.
Workmanship. Links shall be uniform in quality and

temper, and shall be free from laminated metal (complete separation of
the metal at some point), excessive scale, scraps, splits, cracks, seams,
and other defects. The quality of workmanship shall assure conformance
to all requirements of this specification and the applicable documents
listed in Section 2. The standards of workmanship exhibited in any
approved preproduction sample , subject to any qualification stated in the
Government notice of approval, shall be determinative of the requirements
of the contract relative to workmanship insofar as not specifically
covered by applicable specifications.
QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS

Responsibility for insertion. Unless otherwise specified

in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the
performance of all inspections specified herein. Except as otherwise
specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial
laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Government reserves the
right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification
where. such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplieS
and services conform to prescribed requirements.
